Friday Night Fun.

A recent Friday night found us throwing a garden party for 1,500 guests.

Drinks included drops of fresh rainwater...

...while the main course featured tiny aphids, marinated with a hint of heirloom tomatoes and Genovese basil.

Some of our guests needed assistance to find the buffet...

Others flirted and danced the night away.

The hostesses encouraged the guests to stay awhile, making them welcomed and comfortable, hoping they wouldn't disappear into the night.

We must throw a good party, because some of our new friends are still in the garden, making babies, and cleaning up the buffet.

Here's hoping they stick around for awhile.

XO ~

Julie

  1. What fun! The girls look like they are having a ball. Are they looking for them each morning?

    1. Tina, my daughter's friend just happened to be there for the garden party. She dropped off her little chick, so Kristen was "chick sitting" for a week. (You have to be very careful how you say "chick-sit"!) But--yes, Kristen and I have been looking for them, and I found a baby yesterday. Hopefully, we'll find more!

  2. I know the girls had a good time with the lady bugs. What fun! You have had some good times already this summer!

    1. Janet, Kristen and her friend were so cute and silly! It was perfect timing--the ladybugs arrived the day before the Farm Tour, so there were plenty of ladybugs for our visitors to see--which led to a good opportunity to chat about organic pest control and beneficial insects. Still--only a gardener would get really excited about releasing ladybugs on a Friday night--we are just so wild and crazy at our house! ;-)

    1. Thanks, Daricia! Kristen and her friend are peas in a pod--crazy horse-loving, animal-obsessed girls! (I hope they stay that way forever...wishful thinking!)
