I guess here in the north, if you plant a type of lettuce that's slow to bolt and you keep it picked, you might still have some in the late summer when the tomatoes ripen. I have to say that iceburg let...I love this blog! <br /><br />I have to say that iceburg lettuce was also my family's "go to" vegegtable. It is still the only lettuce my mother buys. They also still eat white bread. Sigh. <br /><br />Did your tomatoes taste like a banana?
